I've finished "Wicked". A very enjoyable book. Political and "good" and "evil" and the Wicked Witch is not at all what she seems....
"People always did like to talk, didn't they? That's why I call myself a witch now: The Wicked Witch of the West, if you want the full glory of it. As long as people are going to call you a lunatic anyway, why not get the benefit of it? It liberates you from convention."
"You're not wicked," said Boq.
"How do you know? It's been so long," said the Witch, but she smiled at him.

I never read Wicked.
There is a city in Costa Rica called Escazu. Now a days it is being taken up with ex-patriots and tourists. But Hansel has told me many stories about the "witches" that are believed to still live there. There is this one story in particular that is very popular...I've always thought of writing a story or making art about the witch's point of view. Because after hearing all these stories, I just have to believe that she had her reasons!!!
